Douglas & The World Unveil The Good Old Days — A Rock ’n’ Roll Story Reborn for 2025, With Graphic Novel in Development

A Story Reawakened for a New Era

Originally conceived as both an album and novella in 2006, The Good Old Days has been reshaped, and re-recorded to bring the story into sharper focus. The 2024–2025 sessions introduced new arrangements, richer production, and a more cinematic scope while preserving the emotional core of the original concept. The record moves through timeless themes of rebellion, identity, broken dreams, and personal transformation—delivered through a raw, melodic blend of alternative rock, garage rock, and indie storytelling. Every track contributes to a larger narrative arc, making The Good Old Days not just an album, but an experience.

A Growing Universe: Graphic Novel Now in Development

In a major expansion of the project’s world, Douglas & The World are currently developing a full graphic novel adaptation of The Good Old Days. This upcoming release will visualise the characters, settings, and emotional journey found in the music—transforming the story into a vivid, illustrated experience for fans of narrative-driven art. The graphic novel will serve as a companion piece to the album, offering deeper context, new angles on the story, and a fresh medium for exploring its themes.

A Modern Rock Release With Classic Spirit

Recorded between 2024 and 2025, the new edition of The Good Old Days captures the grit of early 2000s indie rock, the energy of 60s and 70s classic rock, and the reflective honesty of modern singer–songwriters. Pulsing guitars, atmospheric layers, and emotionally charged vocals give the album a timeless yet contemporary feel—perfect for fans of concept records, cinematic albums, and raw, introspective songwriting.
